WHAT IS REIKI AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
1 Hour Session £30.00 30 Minute Session £15.00
Reiki is a form of healing which harnesses ‘Universal Energy’ and uses this to rebalance and restore the body. All reiki practitioners work with the personal energy surrounding each individual and channel the Universal Energy to clear blockages and restore vitality to mind, body and soul. The blockages in our energy system occur because of emotional or physical problems which we all experience throughout our lives and they impinge on the natural and smooth flow of energy.
Reiki healing was developed at the end of the 19th century by Mikao Usui, a Japanese priest, who spent many years searching for enlightenment. He became aware of a healing energy coursing through him and developed a way of channeling this force to bring about healing. In today’s terms you could think of it as a way of offloading your problems or recharging your batteries.
What can you expect during a treatment?
The experience of having a reiki treatment varies with each person. Usually you can expect to feel very relaxed or even elated. I place my hands on your head or shoulders to begin with and then move around your body towards the toes or in a circular direction. The treatment is carried out fully clothed and the hands are never placed in a way which causes pain or makes you feel uncomfortable. Some people are more sensitive to the treatment than others but you may experience tingling or slight vibration and may be aware of heat or cold over the area being treated. You are able to ask questions at any point but generally people like to close their eyes and drift away.
A reiki session will leave you with a renewed sense of wellbeing and optimism and either a surge in energy or a slightly ‘spaced out’ sensation but this will soon pass.
Reiki is not a form of faith healing and does not rely on your belief system. It is a totally non-denominational practice and is open to all. Please note, you should not come for a treatment if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
